“The environment is not only the city, the town or the village you live in but also the environment of NATURE.
If you have no relationship with nature, you have no relationship with man.
Nature, which is the meadows, the groves, the rivers, all the marvellous earth, the trees and the beauty of the earth.
If we have no relationship with that, we shall have no relationship with each other.
Because thought has not created nature.
The waters of an evening with the stars on it, the beauty of it, thought has not created it.
Thought has not created the vast mountains, the snow-capped mountains against the blue sky, the evening sunset and the lonely moon when there are no other stars.
So, thought has not created nature.
Nature is reality.
If you have no relationship with nature, how can you have relationship with another, with another human being?
If you don’t perceive that -the sea, the quality of water, the waves, the enormous vitality of the tide going out and coming in, if you are not aware of that (the nature), how can one be aware or be sensitive to human relationship?
Please this is very important to understand this, because beauty, if one may talk about it, is not merely in the physical form, but beauty in essence is that quality of sensitivity, the quality of observation of nature.”
“A garden is a living artwork, changing day by day beautifully.”

Footpaths too are a part of our living environment. In fact, footpaths or sidewalks are important aspects in the social culture of any town. Landscape or garden or landscaped garden does not mean just plants, shrubs, trees, crotons and so on. The beauty of a labyrinth garden is that in the nature’s wonderful world, a walk in it equals meditation. Yes, it is ‘walking meditation’ –the benefits of meditation, while you just walk through the labyrinth garden. Isn’t it a miraculous benefit? Yes, it is.
A traffic island is a reprieve and visual rejuvenation to the time-frazzled and much hassled motorists; especially in all the metros in India. Poor drivers do need this visual pleasure or luxury to relieve their tension.
Former President of India to select actors in South India are conscious about planting trees as a social responsibility. We in RD&M take every opportunity in urban design or even in smaller projects, bring in tree courts of suitable size, shape and form.

The emerging and much evolved concept is the vertical gardens. This may warrant careful planning in irrigation and slurry disposal, yet the results are worthy of efforts and investments; after all it brings in the much needed nature in semi-closed areas and spaces that are much above earth.
SIT OUT AREA
We in R D AND M ARCHITECTS, pay attention to every small thing, which includes sit outs of any kind. This includes in public spaces, homes and even condominiums. What a well thought out landscape design as part of architecture or interior design does to the people is more important than just the visual appeal.
Just thinking about nature cannot create nature.
Let’s give importance to nature in y/our environment.
‘A garden is a living artwork, changing day by day beautifully. A garden is an expression of aesthetic beauty through Art and Nature. A display or showcase of taste or style in civilized life. Human Beings started their life in a forest and then they turned their surroundings into beautiful gardens according to their own living style.Imagine, experiencing the beauty of walking barefoot on grass, or maybe let a flower rub against your cheeks, or let your ears soak in the sound of the chirping birds or simply hear the cool breeze blow. Isn’t it so comforting to take respite from our daily chores and feel natural and beautiful with nature? Give it a thought, make it happen and experience the nature around you. These experiences makes you to feel how important a garden is, whether it is a small or big. All we need to do is take out the weeds of negativity from our garden of intentions and make way for something beautiful to flourish.’
